Neil Anders is an indie folk-rock artist from the midwest who fronts Neil Anders & the Brothers Merritt. The band has carved out their own musical niche–marked with rich acoustic textures, driving rock tunes, and introspective lyricism. Hailing from diverse backgrounds, the members bring a wealth of influences to the table, creating a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly unique. In addition to Anders’ originals, you can expect a diverse repertoire at shows highlighting the band’s versatility. Set lists have something for everybody, incorporating beloved classics with newer hits of today. The band vibes well in any venue, from intimate settings to expansive festival stages.

Anders released his debut album “All In” in December of 2018. The record which Neil wrote, recorded, and produced offers a heady mix of rockers and ballads, employing an eclectic combination of rock, indie, and country/folk influences. Anders released his second studio album in August of 2022 – “Miles From Nowhere”. Anders wrote and produced the album which features the Brothers Merritt and Jay Schneider. The brothers Merritt, Greg Merritt (bass), and Jake Merritt (drums) have performed in various capacities and groups—an on-call rhythm section. Jay Schneider is a mulit-instrumentalist/artist based in Des Moines whose unique range and prowess has been featured on a host of diverse projects in central Iowa and abroad. True to style, the second album features songs that represent a broad range—from stripped down acoustic tracks that reflect Anders’ country/folk roots to modern indie-rockers that display the raw talent of the Merritts and Schneider. The band’s latest single, “In Between” is out now everywhere with more music to come in 2024.
